Joyce Godwin
Former Jay County resident Joyce Arline Godwin, 77, 1100 Myer Road, Celina, died at 5:22 a.m. Sept. 10, 2008, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born July 29, 1931, in Pennville, Ind. to Alfred B. and Phyllis Burkett Denney.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Reynolds, South Bend, Ind., and Randy Godwin, Mendon; a daughter, Lorisa (David) Young, Mendon; a brother, Beryl "Bud" J. (Clara) Denney Jr., Bryant, Ind.; a sister, Sue (Jerry) Shirk, Portland, Ind.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and a former board member for the Salvation Army, Celina. She attended Bryant High School.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home, the Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Burial is at Gravel Hill cemetery.
