Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset as temperatures begin to drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Raymond Whetsel
Raymond "L.J." Whetsel, 12, 204 W. Walnut St., Mendon, died Sept. 21, 2008, at his residence. Death was due to an apparent suicide.
He was born Jan. 6, 1996, in Lima, to Robert and Barbara Miller Whetsel. His mother and stepfather, Rodney Adcock, survive at the residence. His father and stepmother, Lisa Whetsel, survive in Neptune.
Surviving are two brothers, Rodney Adcock Jr. and Dante Prince, both of Mendon; a sister, Malibu Prince, Mendon; maternal grandparents, Elizabeth Wallace and John and Carol Winget, all of St. Marys; paternal grandparents, Thelma Scott, Portland, Ind., Ronnie Evans, Merritt Island, Fla., Donna Thacker, Paulding, and Ivy Evans, Neptune.
Deceased are grandparents Leon Wallace, Lloyd Fellers, Carl Evans, Dan Scott and Charles and Mary Whetsel.
He was a sixth-grade student at the Parkway Local School District, Rockford.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Judy Ball officiating. Burial is at Neptune Cemetery.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
