Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Melvin Hamp
Melvin O. Hamp, 77, 03251 Clover Four Road, New Bremen, died at 8:03 p.m. Nov. 18, 2008, in the emergency department at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born Feb. 4, 1931, in Botkins, to Kenneth M. and Melva M. Koons Hamp. On March 19, 1949, he married Velma G. Bohannon, who survives.
Other survivors area a son, William L., Sarasota, Fla.; a daughter, Lynnell (Gregg) Wibbeler, St.Marys; three sisters, Betty Heitman, McCartyville, Burnell Kellermeyer, St. Marys, and Marilyn Hedges, Portland, Ind.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Raymond; and a sister Delores Cook.
He retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, St.Marys, where he worked 35 years as a maintenance mechanic. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge, St.Marys, and the New Bremen Rod & Gun Club. He served for two years in the U.S. Navy.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, St.Marys, the Rev. Bill Drummond, officiating. Burial is at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
