Florence Meyers
Florence Mary Meyers, 94, 1140 S. Knoxville Ave., St. Marys, died at 4:48 a.m. Dec. 9, 2008, at the Golden Living Center-Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys.
She was born Jan. 29, 1914, in St. Marys, to J. Fred and Louise Beckman Critten. On June 20, 1936, she married Kenneth H. Meyers, who died Nov. 7, 1963.
Surviving are a daughter, Ann Dammeyer, St. Marys; a brother, Fred Critten, Lexington, Ky.; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
Deceased is a brother, Harry Critten; a sister, Dorothy Swartz; and a grandson.
She was employed at the former DWG Cigar factory and was manager of the former Jack's Shoe Store for 20 years, all of St. Marys. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Altar Sodality and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She attended St. Marys schools.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, the Rev. Anthony Cutcher officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
