Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Ruth Niemeyer
Ruth L. Niemeyer, 87, formerly of 104 E. Spring St., New Knoxville, died Dec. 11, 2008, at the Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys.
She was born Jan. 9, 1921, in New Knoxville to Edward and Lydia Elshoff Niemeyer.
Surviving is one brother, Don (Ruth) of New Knoxville.
Deceased is a brother, Reuben.
A 1938 graduate of New Knoxville High School, she retired from Fifth Third Bank in New Knoxville after 40 years of service. She was a lifelong member of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville, where she was a choir member. She was a member of the Soroptimist Music Club and the New Knoxville Historical Society.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Monday in the Heritage Room of the church.
