* WHERE...Delaware, Union, Auglaize, Champaign, Darke, Hardin, Logan, Mercer, Miami, and Shelby Counties.
* WHEN...From 5 AM to 8 PM EDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Mercer County sales taxes in December were up almost 1 percent compared with statewide figures that dropped almost 10 percent. The news is good, although officials aren't sure it will last due to recent employee lay-offs and other fiscal setbacks of local companies.
