The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Martha Poeppelman
Martha A. Poeppelman, 84, 163 E. Seventh St., Minster, died Feb. 19, 2009, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.
She was born Jan. 7, 1925, in Minster, to Elmer and Corrine Tobe Knostman. On June 27, 1947, she married Bill Poeppelman, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Mark (Teresa), Springboro, and Craig (Gail), Fairfield; a sister, Marguerite Schieltz, Sidney; a son-in-law, Nelson Barhorst, Fort Loramie; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Deceased are a daughter, Ann Barhorst; a sister, Doris Ann; and a stepfather, Paul Gaier.
She retired from Midmark Corporation, Versailles, and Precision Strip, Minster. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, and its Catholic Ladies of Columbia, its choir and funeral choir and was a soloist for weddings.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9-9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
