The last Bavarian party before Lent
Photo by Margie Wuebker/The Daily Standard

Hundreds of area residents came to the New Bremen American Legion Hall on Tuesday night to celebrate Fasching Fest - the German version of Mardi Gras with Bavarian food, music and fellowship. Angie Topp and her sons Aaron and Casey dance across the floor to lively music supplied by Bette's Polka Band. The Sons of the American Legion (SAL) took over sponsorship of the event this year from the Southwestern Auglaize County Chamber of Commerce with SAL member Adam Suchland serving as chairman.
