Alta Truman
Alta Truman, 92, formerly of Buckland and the Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home, died at 7:34 a.m. March 3, 2009, at Auglaize Acres Nursing Home, Wapakoneta.
She was born Feb. 28, 1917, near Blackberry Corners in Lucas County to Herman and Minnie Behm Rhoda. She was raised by her father and step-mother, Augusta Gahler Rhoda after her mother died in childbirth. On April 28, 1938, she married Charles Truman, who died Sept. 3, 1987.
Surviving are two children, Robert, Grand Rapids, Mich. and Jan (Jeff) Selby, St. Marys; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren and three-great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Orville Rhoda; two sisters, Virginia Heckel and Lucinda Wurster; and a stepbrother, Marvin Wilka.
She was a homemaker and worked as a cook at various area restaurants. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys. Private family burial is at a later date.
Calling is noon until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
