* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Indiana, northeast and northern Kentucky, and central, south central, southwest, and west central Ohio.

* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken.

Gary Wendel
Gary Dean Wendel, 62, 306 E. Forest St., Celina, died at 7:15 a.m. March 23, 2009, at his residence. A cause of death has not been determined.
He was born Aug. 4, 1946, in Mercer County, to Lisle and Norma Gehm Wendel, who are deceased. On Sept. 25, 1970, he married Susan Stucke, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Kyle Wendel, Fairborn; two daughters, Michelle (Gordon) Self, Coldwater, and Jill Wendel, Celina; two brothers, Laverne (Kathy) Wendel and Larry (Linda) Wendel, all of Celina; two sisters, Mary Ann Roberts, Seminole, Fla., and Linda (Herman) Rogers, Sebring, Fla.; a half brother, Kevin (Teresa) Wendel, St. Marys; a mother-n-law, Vera Stucke; and a granddaughter.
Deceased are two brothers, Doug and Terry Wendel; a sister, Koni Wendel; and a father-in-law, Werner Stucke.
He was a 1964 graduate of Lincoln View High School and served in the U.S. Army where he received a national defense medal. He retired from Elmco and Chrysler Annex. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the American Legion, both of Celina.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Rockford, the Rev. Catherine Costello officiating.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. Military honors will be conducted by the VFW and American Legion immediately following services at the church. Cremation will follow.
