Local unemployment figures have nearly doubled from a year ago - meaning approximately 5,200 Mercer and Auglaize County residents are out of work.
From January to February, the unemployment rate in Mercer County rose 1.1 percent to 9.1 percent. In Auglaize County, the number went up 1.5 percent to 10.8 percent, according to information from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. [More]
Six teams roundup Celina residents

Six local residents were arrested this morning within a 21-minute period as part of a continuing crackdown on drug offenders by the Mercer County Sheriff's Office and the Grand Lake Task Force. The offenses all occurred in 2008.
The roundup comes in the wake of a Feb. 24 bust that targeted 11 individuals on various drug-related charges. [More]

New speed will go into effect when mayor signs emergency ordinance
The speed limit on Grand Lake Road will increase from 25 to 35 miles per hour as Celina City Council members unanimously passed an emergency ordinance on Monday night.
