Frank Hagen
John Frank Hagen, 91, 202 Celina St., Celina, died at 7:41 p.m. April 6, 2009, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born Nov. 20, 1917, in Northport, Mich., to Johannes and Laura Garthe Hagen. On Oct. 11, 1942, he married Carol Baumberger, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons: Fredric (Eunice) Hagen, Celina, Jeffrey (Debra) Hagen, Delano, Minn. and Karl (Barbara) Hagen, Orlando, Fla.; two daughters: Mary (Ron) Clark, LaFontaine, Ind. and Carolyn (Chuck) Heindel, Garner, N.C.; a daughter-in-law, Susan Hagen, Jenison, Mich.; two brothers, Isaac (Thelma) Hagen, Northport and Grant (Betty) Hagen, Arlington, Va.; a sister, Esther Yeates, East Lansing, Mich.; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Christian; two brothers, James and Fredric; and two sisters, Lita Oltman and Joann Munroe.
He retired after 37 years as advertising manager at The Daily Standard. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Celina. A 1942 graduate of the University of Michigan, he played in the university band. He served with the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a past commander of the American Legion in Celina.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Paul Baglien officiating.
Calling is 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
