Arturo Presas
Arturo T. "Art" Presas, 72, 175 Oakwood Drive, Fort Loramie, died at 11:07 p.m. May 18, 2009, at his residence.He was born Feb. 17, 1937, in Mercedes, Texas, to Jose and Jesusa Duran Presas. He was first married on Feb. 8, 1960, to Emma Lou Huddleston, who died Dec. 2, 2000. On Feb. 28, 2003, he married Veronica "Vee" Hoying Perin, who survives.
Other survivors are his children, Angie (Rick) Fink, Sunbury, Dr. Art (Denise) Presas, Raleigh, N.C., Kathy (Rick) O'Donnell, Centerburg, Tony (Sue) Presas, Lewis Center, Julie Presas, Columbus, and Liz (Rick) Carter, Clarkston, Mich; stepchildren, Bev (Joe) Bornhorst, Dayton, Lisa (Dave) Ruhenkamp, Fort Loramie, and Michelle (Andy) Counts, Sidney; and 28 grandchildren.
Deceased is a stepson, Greg Perin.
He worked for many years for the Ohio Bureau of Employment Service and was appointed Administrator for the State of Ohio, he served as National Hispanic Director for the International Union of Operating Engineers and was an owner of the consulting firm, A. J. and Associates. He was a graduate of Delphos St. John High School, attended the University of Dayton and graduated from Ohio Northern University. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, and the Fort Loramie Booster Club.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Revs. Steven Shoup, Bishop Albert Ottenweller, Glen Perin and Leo Hoying officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 1-7 p.m. Sunday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
