Jean Shindeldecker
Jean Marie Shindeldecker, 90, 218 Walnut St., Rockford, died at 6:20 a.m. May 18, 2009, at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
She was born July 10, 1918, in Wapakoneta to Charles and Cornelia Shawn Wehner. On March 4, 1939, she married Ralph Shindeldecker, who died June 26, 2005.
Surviving are two sons, Ralph E. (Marie) Shindeldecker, and James (Sue) Shindeldecker, all of Celina; three daughters, Patricia (Jack) Frysinger, Celina, Linda (Doug) Huffman and Francille (Roger) Sapp, all of Rockford; seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are five brothers and four sisters.
She was a homemaker and worked at Rockford Schools, the former Mersman Brothers, Celina, Sharp Canning Factory and Jollytime Trailer Factory, and The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford. She was a member of the Rockford Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Rockford First United Methodist Church.
Memorial service is 10:30 a.m. June 6, 2009, at the church, the Rev. Michael Berne officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
