Dyne Pfeffenberger
Celina native Dyne L. Pfeffenberger, 71, of Fort Wayne, Ind., died at 1:55 p.m. July 1, 2009, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind., after an accident.
He was born Oct. 26, 1937, in Celina to Linus and Hazel Chaney Pfeffenberger.
Surviving are a sister, Debra Pfeffenberger Denney, Celina; a brother-in-law, Ronald (Carolyn) Braun, Coldwater; nephews, Todd (Tonja) Braun, Bellefontaine, Trent Braun, Celina, and Trace (Kelly) Braun, Celina; and a niece, Vanessa Denney, Celina.
Deceased is a sister, Alice Denise Braun.
He graduated from the former Immaculate Conception High School, Celina, in 1955 and then attended International Business College, University of Dayton and Ball State University where he earned his bachelor's and master's degrees and a CPA. Before retiring in 2001, he taught at International Business College, Ball State and Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne, where he served as chair of the accounting department. He was one of the founders of the Embassy Theatre Foundation where he served as treasurer and historian, was a treasurer of Fort Wayne Historical Preservation Society and served as both president and vice president for the Citizens Advisory Board for public radio WBNI. He was the premier organist on the Embassy's Page, played piano at the Cathedral and Embassy and authored a book.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Fort Wayne, the Rev. Robert Schulte officiating. Graveside services are 3:30 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, Fort Wayne, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
Contributions can be made to Immaculate Conception Church, Celina, Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, Fort Wayne, Embassy Theatre Foundation Endowment Fund or Northeast Public Radio Inc.
