Esther Dicke
Esther D. Dicke, 92, of 509 S. Walnut St., New Bremen, died at 7:15 p.m. Aug. 1, 2009, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney.
She was born Nov. 22, 1916, near Kettlersville to Daniel and Leona Laut Headapohl. On April 19, 1939, she married Henry Dicke, who died on July 21, 1983.
Surviving are her children, Dennis (Genevieve Conradi) Dicke and Karen (George Jr.) Voress, all of New Bremen; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Paul Headapohl, and a daughter-in-law, Lois Dicke.
She a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen, where she also taught Sunday School for over 25 years. She was a 1934 graduate of New Bremen High School.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. Burial is at the German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
