William Baker
William O. "Bill" Baker, 75, of Willshire died Aug. 28, 2009, at a job site in rural Convoy of natural causes.
He was born Sept. 18, 1933, in Willshire Township to Walter and Rosa Dietrich Baker. On May 10, 1959, he married Berniece Werling, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Brent A. (Beth) Baker and Brian K. (Lorna) Baker, all of Willshire; a daughter, Brenda L. (Todd) Matthews, Ohio City; four grandsons and four granddaughters.
Deceased is a sister, Betty Baker.
He was owner/operator of Baker Construction for 50 years and a farmer. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Schumm, and the American Legion, Willshire Homer Pierson Post and the Willshire Lion's Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1954 to 1956.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Zion Lutheran Church, Schumm, the Rev. Jeff Patterson officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 6-9 p.m. today, 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Ind., and one hour prior to service Wednesday at the church.
