Estella Piekenbrock
Estella M. Piekenbrock, 95, formerly of Homan Road, St. Rose, died at 1:30 a.m. Sept. 18, 2009, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born Dec. 17, 1913, in Egypt to Joseph and Cecelia Wehrman Prenger. On June 30, 1936, she married Edward Piekenbrock, who died July 7, 1976.
Surviving are nine children, Leroy (Janice) Piekenbrock, St. Rose, Ruth (Kenneth) Bruns, St. Sebastian, Esther (Richard) Heckman, Osgood, Edna (Alvin) Tebbe, St. Anthony, Eva Gehret, Osgood, Linda (Larry) Pleiman, Yorkshire, Eileen (Arthur) Siefring, Burkettsville, Emily (Charles) Timmerman, Union City, and Erma (Bobby) Stump, Fort Recovery; a brother, Victor (Alma) Prenger, Maria Stein; a sister, Velma Bergman, Maria Stein; a sister-in-law, Irene Prenger, Egypt; 53 grandchildren, 99 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sons-in-law, Joe Gehret and Paul Timmerman; four sisters, Bernadine Hoelscher, Loretta Huelskamp, Irene Otte and Sally Sommer; a brother, Mark Prenger; a grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and its Ladies Sodality. She also was a member of the Knights of St. John Auxiliary, Maria Stein, Adoration Guild, and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Minster. She formerly was a volunteer at Mercer County Community Hospital and Briarwood Manor, both in Coldwater.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Gene Schnipke officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
