Rough rides
Photo by Nancy Allen/The Daily Standard

There were plenty of bull-riding thrills and spills during Saturday's M&M Rodeo at the Mercer County Fairgrounds in Celina, the location of the Second Annual Western Roundup Days. Most of the bulls readily ran back into the holding area once they spilled their riders, but a few pranced around the ring, stomping their feet and starring at the crowd before handlers coaxed them back in. There also was barrel racing performed by some quick-riding women and a Wing Fest. Winning People's Choice awards for the best chicken wings were St. Henry Nite Club, first; Dave's Barbecue, St. Marys, owned by Dave Wright, second; and Butters-Bones, sponsored by the Celina Moose Lodge, third.
