Vernon Kemmann
Vernon N. Kemmann, 89, 02605 Salem-Noble Road, rural Auglaize County, died at noon Nov. 19, 2009, at his residence.
He was born April 8, 1920, in Long Island, N.Y., to Fred and Regina Banschbach Kemmann. On July 26, 1942, he married Velma Ruth Wilkins, who died May 30, 1998.
Surviving is a son, Terry (Theresa) Kemmann, St. Marys; two daughters, Karen Kemmann of St. Marys and Valerie Kemmann of New Knoxville; a companion/caregiver, Evelyn Moser, Celina; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a grandson.
A farmer, he retired from New Idea Corporation, Coldwater, where he worked as a welder/electrician. He also drove a school bus for St. Marys City Schools and operated a sawmill in rural Kossuth. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, St. Marys. He was a member of the Lima Power Squadron, Auglaize County Buzzard Baiters and a licensed amateur radio operator.
Service is 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home & Cremation Service, St. Marys, the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
