Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset as temperatures begin to drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Margaret Gehm
Margaret Louise Gehm, 79, 11317 Bobwhite Lane, St. Marys, and formerly of Rockford, died at 3 p.m. Nov. 24, 2009, at Joint Township Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born July 11, 1930, in Willshire to Kermit and Irene Spitler Bienz. On Sept. 4, 1948, she married Melville Gehm, who survives.
Other survivors are three daughters, Linda (Jerry) Duff, Dayton, Ronda (Bob) Klosterman, St. Marys, and Carol Gehm, Aurora, Colo.; a brother, Walter Eugene (Patricia) Bienz, Washington Court House; a sister, Donna (Jim) Greene, Pensacola, Fla.; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grandchild.
Deceased is a grandson.
She retired from CTS of Berne, Ind., and was a 1948 graduate of Willshire High School. She was a member of the Chat United Methodist Church and a former member of the Eastern Star, Rockford.
Services are 10:30 a.m. today at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Steve Oliver officiating. Burial is at St. Paul's United Church of Christ Cemetery, Rockford.
Calling was 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
