Dorothy Duncan
Dorothy J. Duncan, 88, 6680 state Route 219, Montezuma, died at 10:05 a.m. Nov. 30, 2009, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born Jan. 16, 1921, in Xenia to Harry and Lila Kildow Manor. On Dec. 28, 1950, she married Roger Duncan, who died Jan. 2, 1995.
Surviving are a son, Philip Crumpler, Montezuma; five daughters, Cheryl (Ron) Kline, St. Marys, Patty (Mike) Stucky, Coldwater, Sheila Goldsberry, Montezuma, Beverly (Newton) Owings, Sarasota, Fla., Carol (Tony) Seitz, Montezuma; a brother, Neil (Donna) Manor, Jamestown; a sister, Phyllis Lang, Cary, N.C.; two daughters-in-law, Shirley (Joe) Duncan-Rutschilling, Yorkshire, and Arlene Crumpler, Montezuma; 17 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Deceased are two sons, Jerry Crumpler and Gary Duncan; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Virginia Manor, Charles and Betty Manor and Dean and Eleanor Manor; a sister and two brothers-in-law, Eloise and Basil Hatfield and John Lang; a son-in-law, Joe Goldsberry; and a grandson.
She was a telephone operator in Xenia and owned and operated Duncan Concessions and the family farm and nursery in Montezuma along with her husband. She was a member of the Montezuma Church of Christ, the Sunshine Singers, the Greater Ohio Showman's Association and a former member of the Montezuma Grange.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Kevin Neumann officiating. Burial is at Burdge Cemetery, Montezuma.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina and one hour prior to service Friday at the church.
