Snow showers will continue this afternoon into the evening hours. Slick spots may develop on roads tonight as temperatures drop and northwest winds gust from 20 to 30 mph. Coverage of snow showers is expected to decrease overnight before ending Monday morning. Most the area will see an accumulation of one-half inch to 2 inches. Visibility will be restricted at times in the heavier showers.
Roadways may become slick. If traveling, be alert, slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.

Alfreda Dircksen
Alfreda E. Dircksen, 87, 25 Cardinal St., New Bremen, died at 4:41 a.m. Dec. 5, 2009, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born June 26, 1922, in St. Patrick to Matthew and Marie Rienders Hoying. On May 15, 1946, she married Herman Dircksen, who died Oct. 2, 1985.
Surviving are three sons, Joseph (Retta) Dircksen, Baltimore, Md., Dave (Becky) Dircksen, St. Marys, and Roger (Patti) Dircksen, Shawnee; a sister, Mary Ann (Ralph) Thaman, McCartyville; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Seger and Anna Marie Dircksen, both of Minster; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two daughters, Jane and Susan Dircksen; a sister, Dorothy Meyer; and two brothers, Sylvester and her twin, Alfred Hoying.
She retired from Crown Equipment Corp. and had worked at the former Beatrice Foods, both in New Bremen. She was a charter member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer, New Bremen and an active member of the New Bremen Senior Citizens.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and 9:30-10 a.m. Wednesday at the church where the rosary will be prayed.
