Coldwater native in Chile helping community cope with earthquake tragedy
The Rev. Donald Thieman awoke from a deep sleep to find the bed beneath him dancing across the floor.
It was 3:30 a.m. Feb. 27 and a powerful, 8.8-magnitude earthquake had just struck Chile, the South American country where he's worked as a Catholic missionary priest for 52 years.
A 54-year-old Allen County woman faces charges of involuntary manslaughter, reckless homicide and trafficking in drugs stemming from an apparent drug overdose that claimed the life of a St. Marys man in August.
