Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off into tonight.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset and beyond as temperatures drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Chester Dammeyer
Chester H. Dammeyer, 81, 2108 Cambridge Court, St. Marys, died at 10:30 p.m. April 28, 2010, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born June 13, 1928, in St. Marys, to Elmer and Anna Quellhorst Dammeyer. On Sept. 24, 1950, he married B. Joanne Hoselton, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Nancy Morgan, Denver, Colo.; two sons, Terry (Shawna) Dammeyer, Indian Hill, and Nicholas (Carolyn) Dammeyer, Celina; two sisters, Ruth (Willis) Henschen, St. Marys, and Mary (Arlan) Smith, Celina; a sister-in-law, Wanda Dammeyer, St. Marys; a son-in-law, Stuart Hazlett, Alexandria, Va.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Christine Hazlett, and a brother, Louis Dammeyer.
He worked at the U.S. Post Office in St. Marys and also owned and operated the S-W Motel and Apartments in St. Marys. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and was a member of both Kiwanis and St. Marys Outing Club (Idlewild), all of St. Marys. He was a 1946 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys.
Services are 8 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Marys, the Rev. Dr. Ed Bray officiating. Military rites will be conducted following the service.
Calling is 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
