Margaret Koons
Margaret Koons, 98, 1707 Celina Road, St. Marys, died at 10:05 a.m. May 8, 2010, at her home.
She was born June 18, 1911, in Auglaize County, to Javen Frank and Cecil Ellen Schillinger Croft. On Sept. 21, 1935, she married Herbert Koons, who died Oct. 11, 1969.
Surviving is a daughter, Linda Koons, St. Marys; a daughter-in-law, Kathryn Rohrbach, San Jose, Calif.; a brother, Harold Croft, Clinton, Mo.; two sisters, Norma (Charles) Fry, Clinton, Mo., and Lorraine (Rodger) Allmean, Los Altos, Calif.; two grandsons and a great-grandson.
Also deceased are a son, Kenneth M. Rohrbach.
She graduated from Memorial High School in St. Marys in 1929. She retired from the dietary department at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys and was a lifetime member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church in rural St. Marys. She also was a homemaker.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys, the Rev. Steve Weatherly officiating. Burial follows at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Calling is Noon-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to either the church or to Grand Lake Hospice.
