The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Alvin Muhlenkamp
Alvin B. Muhlenkamp, 78, Portland, Ind., died at 11:10 p.m. May 12, 2010, at his home.
He was born June 28, 1931, in Portland, Ind., to Linus and Esther Krieg Muhlenkamp
  On Nov. 22, 1958, he married Dolores Kuess, who survives.
Also surviving are six daughters, Sharon Muhlenkamp, Portland, Ind., Shirley (Gary) Heitkamp and Sandy (Mike) Shannon, both of Bryant, Ind., Sheryl Muhlenkamp, Susan (Wade) Kohler and Sheila Brunswick, all of Portland, Ind.; three sons, Luke (Mary Sue) Muhlenkamp, Allen (Theresa) Muhlenkamp and Earl (Carrie) Muhlenkamp, all of Portland, Ind.; four sisters, Lou Ann Knoth, Coldwater, Juanita Buening, St. Henry, Elaine (Tom) Carlisle, Dayton, and Kathy (Tom) Coon, Little Rock, Ark.; four brothers, Ernest (Janet) Muhlenkamp, Lavaughn (Doris) Muhlenkamp, all of Portland, Ind., and Ivan (Sue) Muhlenkamp, St. Joe, Mich., and Bernard Muhlenkamp, St. Louis, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Elmer Kuess, Celina; 20 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Deceased is a sister, Irma Kuess, and a grandchild.
He worked as a farmer and was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bryant, Ind. He was a member of the St. Joseph's Men's Society of the church and Catholic Foresters.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. David Hoying officiating. Burial is Holy Trinity Cemetery in Bryant.
Calling is 1-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-9:45 a.m. Monday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
