A delegation of Chinese students, teachers and the assistant principal of Marion Local's sister school (The Affiliated Middle School of Jinging Institute in China) are visiting the area and staying with host families. Marion Local is one of two established Confucius Classrooms in the state of Ohio, with Shaker Heights being the other. The district receives money from a Chinese government agency to help pay for teaching students Mandarin Chinese.
