Edward Green
Edward C. Green, 91, Fort Recovery, died at 1:27 a.m. Sept. 29, 2010, at Jay County Hospital in Portland, Ind.
He was born March 15, 1919, in Fort Recovery to Otto and Frona Huffman Green. On June 15, 1943, he married Helen E. King, who survives.
Also surviving is a son, Mike (Nancy) Green, Fort Recovery; a daughter, Sharol (Luke) Fullenkamp, Portland, Ind.; a brother, Paul Green, Celina; two sisters, Onnolee Bickel and Ruth Reier, both of Fort Recovery; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He worked as a farmer. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II where he received the Purple Heart. He was a life member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 5713 in Celina.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home in Fort Recovery, the Rev. Verl Ballmer officiating. Burial with military graveside honors conducted by the VFW is at Spring Hill Cemetery in Fort Recovery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Friday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
