Phyllis Linn
Phyllis E. Linn, 85, Rockford, died at 12:35 p.m. Oct. 31, 2010, at Colonial Nursing Center in Rockford.
She was born March 29, 1925, in Celina to W. A. and Miriam Fetters Shirk. On March 20, 1949, she married Carl Linn Jr., who survives.
Also surviving are two children, Gail (Steve) Godfrey, Portland, Ind., and Dan (Jennifer) Linn, Willshire; a brother, Robert Shirk, Celina; and two grandchildren.
She was a secretary and bookkeeper for Gibbons Hospital in Celina and at Chatt Valley Foods in Chattanooga. She also was a secretary and newsletter editor for St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Rockford, where she was a member. She also was a member of the church's Women's Association.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Catherine Costello officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford.

Myrtle Kramer Streine, 104, formerly of Minster, died April 28, 2010, at John Knox Village in Pompano Beach, Fla. [More]
