Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off into tonight.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset and beyond as temperatures drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Berniece Lilly
E. Berniece Lilly, 87, Celina, died at 1:50 p.m. Nov. 17, 2010, at Celina Manor Nursing Home in Celina.
She was born April 12, 1923, in Mount Vernon, Texas, to Everett and Lottie M. Taylor Smith. On Oct. 5, 1940, she married Alvin Lilly, who died Oct. 10, 1959.
Surviving is a daughter, Edith (Dennis) Klingler, New Bremen; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Also deceased are three brothers, Jack, Johnny and Russell Smith; two sisters, Orelia Dull and Dorothy Shreves; and a great-granddaughter.
She worked as a clerk at the former Brodbecks store in Celina and attended Mount Tabor Church of God. She was a member of the Moose Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Eagles, all of Celina.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, the Rev. Tom Sager officiating. Burial is at Swamp College Cemetery in Celina.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the State of the Heart Hospice.
