* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Indiana, northeast and northern Kentucky, and central, south central, southwest, and west central Ohio.
* WHEN...From Sunday afternoon through Tuesday evening.
* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Consecutive days of excessive heat and humidity can be especially hazardous as warm overnight temperatures will provide little relief. The heat may continue into Wednesday.

Carlos Spitler
Former St. Marys resident Carlos R. Spitler, 35, Dayton, died Jan. 11, 2011, at Windy Point in Mercer County of an apparent suicide.
He was born Aug. 12, 1975, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to Ronald and Carmelita DaSilvia Spitler, who both survive in St. Marys.
Also surviving is a son, Derrick Spitler, Celina; a daughter, Emerson Spitler, Celina; a brother, Jason Spitler, Dayton; and two half-sisters, Melody (Robert) Daugherty, Arcanum, and Melanie Strong, New Madison.
Deceased is a half-brother, Donnie Tennery.
He was a graduate of the St. Marys Memorial High School in St. Marys. He had worked at Mercer Tool Company. He was attending Miami Valley Career Training Center in Dayton to become a nurse. He was Roman Catholic.
Funeral rites are 1 p.m. Saturday at Potsdam Church of the Brethren in Potsdam, the Rev. Bob Kurtz officiating. Burial is at Mote Cemetery near Pitsburg.
Calling is 6-8 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys.
Memorials may be made to a college fund for Spitler's children.
