All-day, every-day kindergarten is considered a success by local schools who have it and a costly endeavor to those who don't.
Currently, five area school districts have adopted the program that was mandated in Ohio beginning with the 2009-2010 school year. The four local schools operating without it have signed waivers exempting them due to financial and/or space constraints. [More]

MARIA STEIN - The Marion Local Flyers threw a wrench into the Midwest Athletic Conference basketball standings with a thrilling 43-40 win over the St. John's Blue Jays on Friday at The Hangar.
The Blue Jays, despite having lost all six of their nonconference games, were alone on top the MAC standings until Friday's defeat. Now, with their 3-7 overall record and 3-1 league ledger, the Jays are smack in the middle of a five-way tie atop the conference. [More]
