Allen Knous
Allen "Bud" Knous, 85, St. Marys, died March 15, 2011, at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.
He was born Aug. 14, 1925, in St. Marys, to Clifford and Stella Gallimore Knous. On Aug. 23, 1943, he married Ellen McCollum, who died Sept. 18, 2002.
Surviving are three children, Dixie Lee (James) Plush, Hillsdale, Mich., Hank Knous, Denver, Colo., Gary (Julie) Knous, Celina; five brothers, Simon (Myrtle) Knous, St. Marys, James (Jackie) Knous, Celina, Lloyd (Patricia) Knous, Decatur, Ind., Paul (Patsy) Knous, St. Marys, and Charles (Carol) Knous, St. Marys; four sisters, Louise Long, Indianapolis, Ind., Joice (James) Scherer, New Carlisle, Inez Jacobs, St. Marys, and Julia Huff, St. Marys; a sister-in-law, Mary McCollum, St. Marys; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
Also deceased are three grandchildren; two brothers, Don Knous and Wesley Knous; and a sister, Evelyn Sorenson.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He retired from Doehler Jarvis Corporation in Toledo, England and New York. He also worked as a truck driver for Auglaize Industries.
Funeral rites are 11 a.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys, the Rev. Bill Drummond officiating. Burial with military honors is at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the St. Marys Church of the Nazarene.
