Doctor eligible for parole in 25 years

LIMA - Dr. Mark Wangler showed no emotion when jurors returned a guilty verdict Thursday afternoon in his aggravated murder case.
His composure never waned as Allen County Common Pleas Court Judge Richard K. Warren almost immediately imposed a sentence of life in prison with possibility of parole after 25 years. Wangler received credit for eight days served prior to posting a $1 million bond in the wake of his 2009 indictment. The judge also imposed a $25,000 fine. [More]
Officials visit local water quality monitoring stations

Local, Indiana and federal officials viewed water quality monitoring stations in the Wabash River and Grand Lake watersheds on Wednesday.
Officials said funding for the stations is in question.
The station in the Wabash River Watershed is on the edge of a field located on Watkins Road, east of state Route 49. It was installed in winter and is not yet fully operational. The one in the lake watershed was installed in Big Chickasaw Creek in 2008. [More]

Officials encourage public to stay informed
CELINA - Stay informed.
That's the advice from Ohio health and safety officials about the radiation risk from Japan's compromised nuclear plant. The public is encouraged to stay abreast of the situation, although the risk is extremely minimal for the Grand Lake area.
CELINA - City officials may pursue an estimated $55,000 parking lot project behind city hall.
