John Hasis
John Frederick Hasis, 82, Mendon, died at 6:50 a.m. May 1, 2011, at The Laurels of Shane Hill.
He was born April 22, 1929, in Mercer County, to Ralph and Mellie Lampy Hasis. On July 18, 1964, he married Ruth Joan Thomas, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Jeffery Hasis, Van Wert, Bradley (Pamela) Hasis, Port St. Lucie, Fla., Steven Fought, Toledo; daughters, Linda (Bob) Tobias, Van Wert, Cathy (Dr. Michael) Ruhlen, Charlotte, N.C.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A retired farmer, he was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion Post in Rockford and Shanes Lodge 0377 F&AM, Rockford.
He attended Mendon Union High School and served with the U.S. Army in Panama during the Korean Conflict.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. KennethBaker officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery, Rockford.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
