During the predawn hours, winds will increase ahead of a low pressure system moving east through the lower Great Lakes. Gusts of 30 to 40 mph are expected through this afternoon, possibly gusting to 45 mph in a few spots. Wind is expected to decrease overnight but remain relatively strong at 20-25 mph this evening.
Please be aware of these strong winds especially if driving a higher profile vehicle. Secure loose outdoor objects and shore up seasonal decorations if possible.

Grand, reserve champions sell at auction

Lydia Schwieterman, Mercer County Junior Cattle Association and daughter of Louie Schwieterman, showed the reserve grand champion market steer and reserve champion crossbred steer. The steer was bought for $3,150 by Trupoint Co-Op, North Star Hardware and Implement, Farm Credit Service, Syngenta - Amanda Kohnen, St. Henry Tile Co., St. Henry Bank, Stewart Seeds - Rick Schleucher, Peoples Bank Co., Werling and Sons, Osgood State Bank, Lefeld Plumbing and Heating, Overman Trucking, Hill's Supply - David Hill and Ben Torsell, Klosterman Concrete and Construction, K & L Tractor Sales and Maria Stein Grain.
