Ralph Ranly
Ralph S. Ranly, 90, Fort Recovery, died at 11 a.m. Sept. 3, 2011, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Mercer County on Aug. 16, 2011.
He was born Sept. 6, 1920, in Fort Recovery, to Joseph and Veronica Fink Ranly.
Surviving are a brother, David Ranly, Columbus; a sister, Marceil Kelly, Dayton; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Jerome and Richard Ranly.
He was employed as a machinist at the former Shellers, Portland, Ind., and the former Hardy's, Union City, Ind.
A graduate of Fort Recovery High School, he served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 345, Fort Recovery.
He was a member of Mary Help of Christian Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, where he was an adult mass server, lay distributor and rosary leader.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Fort Recovery American Legion.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. today and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
