Scattered snow showers occurring across the area will slowly diminish through the evening. These snow showers will continue to cause brief reductions in visibility. In addition, as temperatures fall, the snow showers could produce a light coating of snow on roadways. This will result in the potential for some slick spots to develop. Motorists should be prepared for changing conditions this evening and exercise extra caution.

Peter Calvert
Peter Calvert, 62, Celina, died at 11:20 p.m. Jan. 30, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 16, 1949, in Columbus, to John and Eleanor Mengert Calvert. On May 20, 1996, he married Sallyanne Mosier Calvert, who survives in Celina.
Also surviving are two children, Casey Jones, Neptune, and Michelle (David) Feltz, Columbus; mother-in-law, Helen Mosier, Middle Point; and five grandchildren.
He was a 1967 graduate of West High School, Columbus, and attended The Ohio State University. He studied theology in Mansfield and pastored at Neptune Baptist Church and Pleasant Grove, near Mendon.
He worked at AAP St. Marys for several years and then drove for Transport America, Eagan, Minn.
He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church, Van Wert.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Pleasant Church, the Rev. Bill Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Brickner Funeral Home, Van Wert.
Memorials may be made to Grand Lake Hospice or to Cancer Association of Mercer County.
