Virginia McDermitt
Virginia L. McDermitt, 82, St. Marys, died Feb. 15, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born Jan. 5, 1930, in Lima, to Irwin and Armeta Elsass. On Nov. 15, 1947, she married Kenneth W. McDermitt, who died April 17, 1980.
Surviving are three children, Greg (Deb) McDermitt, Tim (Maria) McDermitt, and Connie Smith, all of St. Marys; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are eight children, Kenneth McDermitt Jr., Dennis McDermitt, Christopher McDermitt, Mark McDermitt, Mary McDermitt, Brenda Barhorst, Anthony McDermitt and Becky Pequignot.
A homemaker, she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a member of Hawthorne Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and St. Marys VFW Auxiliary. She was a uniform seamstress for the VFW Baton and Drum Corps and for Ginny's Gingersnaps.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Bill Maki officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
