Scattered snow showers occurring across the region will gradually diminish early this morning. While any accumulation will be less than an inch, this will create slick roadways with a quick coating of snow. Not all roads will be affected, but motorists should be aware that driving conditions may change quickly along their route, going from dry to slick. If traveling this morning, use extra caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

Richard Wellman
Richard Wellman, 84 , 6362 North 850 East, Bryant, Ind., died May 11, 2012, in Kindred Hospital in Lima.
He was born in Bryant, Ind., on July 5, 1927, to Jerome and Agnes Krieg Wellman Sr. On June 30, 1951, he were married Ruth C. Weigel, who died June 5, 2010.
Surviving are six children, Tom (Mary Lou) Wellman, New Palistine, Ind., Ken (Karen) Wellman, Portland, Ed (Linda) Wellman, Bryant, Tim Wellman, Decatur, Ind., Rick (Becky) Wellman, Selma, and Patricia (Kevin) Price, Decatur; two brothers, Leroy Wellman, Greenville, and Eugene Wellman, Glendale, Ariz.; three sisters, Helen Wellman, Decatur, Rita Heimannof, Decatur, and Doris Wack, Tucson, Ariz.; 29 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three daughters, Connie, Rebecca and Kathleen.
He was a farmer and retired from New Idea in Coldwater. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a medic, and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the St. Joseph Sodality. He had been a member of the Bryant Lions Club.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Portland, with a scripture service at 7 p.m.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. David Hoying presiding. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
