The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for... Northwestern Auglaize County in west central Ohio... Mercer County in west central Ohio...
* Until 900 AM EDT.
* At 606 AM EDT, radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Celina, St. Marys, Coldwater, New Bremen, Rockford, Wabash, Mendon, Chickasaw, Montezuma, Tama, Neptune, Carthagena, Bulkhead, State Route 116 at State Route 197, Chattanooga and Kossuth.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
* WHERE...Portions of central and west central Ohio, including the following counties, in central Ohio, Delaware, Franklin, Licking, Madison and Union. In west central Ohio, Auglaize, Champaign, Clark, Darke, Hardin, Logan, Mercer, Miami and Shelby.
* WHEN...Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will move across parts of the area this morning, possibly extending into early afternoon. This may result in bands of heavier rainfall that could lead to flash flooding.

Walter Vogel
Walter C. Vogel, 75, 14455 County Road 66A, St. Marys, died at 4:14 p.m. June 25, 2012, at St. Marys Living Center.
He was born Feb. 1, 1937, in Medina, to Edward and Lillian Pritchard Vogel. On June 20, 1959 he married Ann L. Oberlitner, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Peggy (Rob) McMurry, Galena; two grandchildren; two brothers, James Vogel and Robert Vogel, both of St. Marys; and two sisters, Wanda Dammeyer, St. Marys, and Jeannette Quellhorst, New Bremen.
Deceased are a son, Eric Vogel, and a brother, George Vogel.
He was a 1955 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School, attended The Ohio State University and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St. Marys and also served as a field reporter for the Auglaize County Farm Services Agency.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, St. Marys, where he served as a deacon and trustee. He also was a member of American Legion Post 323, Eagles Lodge Aerie 767, Van Wert Radio Club and Reservoir Amateur Radio Association. He was a licensed amateur radio operator.
Funeral rites are 1 p.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Dr. Ed Bray officiating. Burial, with full graveside military honors, will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Paul's UCC building maintenance fund.
