Dry, hot weather causing stress to grass, plants
Lawns and gardens have been taking a beating from this summer's lack of rainfall and continued high temperatures.
Crunchy, brown lawns are the norm and saving them can be tricky.
ROSSBURG - A Las Vegas man died Friday morning from injuries sustained in a pickup truck accident at Eldora Speedway on Thursday evening.
Jerry Boes, 39, died at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, where he was taken by emergency helicopter after the accident.
A 28-year-old Osgood man remains in fair condition in a Dayton hospital followning a one-vehicle crash near Osgood at 11:51 p.m. July 13 at the intersection of North Star-Fort Loramie Road and state Route 705.
District 4 ACME Tournament at Minster
MINSTER - An undermanned Minster Wildcats' ACME baseball squad gave top-seeded Wapakoneta all they handle before succumbing 8-5 in the finals of the Auglaize-Shelby County bracket of the District 4 tournament at Hanover Street Park.
ROSSBURG - Almost a year ago to the day, World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series star Joey Saldana left Eldora Speedway in the back of a helicopter after a crash resulted in broken ribs and a shattered right arm.
