Gerald J. Holthaus
Gerald J. Holthaus, 61, Fort Loramie, died Aug. 2, 2012, at his residence.
He was born July 15, 1951, in Piqua, to Gregor and Rita Winner Holthaus. On Sept. 10, 2005, he married Judy Pelfrey, who survives.
Also surviving are two stepchildren, Sabrina (Dennis) McMahon, Sidney, and Chad Cable, Columbus; five siblings, Ron (Velma) Holthaus, Yorkshire, Ken (Bonita) Holthaus, Minster, Martha "Marty" (Joe) Spencer, Covington, Marvin Holthaus, Minster, Rick Holthaus, Minster; and five stepgrandchildren.
He was a 1969 graduate of Fort Loramie High School and served in the U.S. Air Corps, National Guard Reserves. He was a member of Fort Loramie American Legion Post #355 and the Minster Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #1391.
He worked 43 years at Emerson Climate Technologies in Sidney and also farmed.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Church, Fort Loramie, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael's cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
Memorials may be made to the Fort Loramie Fire Department or the Fort Loramie Rescue Squad.
