John Fox
John H. Fox, 91, St. Henry, died Aug. 17, 2012, at The Gardens at St. Henry.
He was born Oct. 18, 1920, in Coldwater to Edward and Edith Schoen Fox. On Oct. 23, 1948, he married Edna Bernard, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Deb (Vic) Hemmelgarn, St. Henry; two half brothers, Ed (Linda) Fox, Van Wert, and Bill Fox, Coldwater; two half sisters, Mary Fickert, Celina, and Virginia Baucher, Coldwater; two stepsisters, Joan Myers, Coldwater, and Betty Anderson, Celina; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Fox, Westerville, and Arlene Brandewie, Fort Loramie; three brothers-in-law, Rocky Bernard, New Weston, Arthur (Janet) Bernard, St. Henry, and Allen Bernard, Cincinnati; three grandsons and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a stepmother, Bess Fox; four sisters and their spouses, Margaret Fox, Sister Rosemary Fox, Rita and Marion Nartker and Dorothy and Roger Ellis; a half brother, Paul Fox; a half sister-in-law, Sally Fox; two half brothers-in-law, Don Fickert and Don Baucher; a stepbrother-in-law, Warren Anderson; a sister-in-law, Ruth Bernard; a sister-in-law and her spouse, Lil and Gene Sherman; and a brother-in-law, Maurice Brandewie.
He retired as a foreman at Pax Steel in 1986 after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and the St. Henry American Legion and a charter member of the Coldwater Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. A 1939 graduate of Coldwater High School, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in England and Scotland during World War II.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Tom Hemm officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
