Explaining the aeration device is Chris Gibbs, executive director of the Mercer County Farm Service Agency. The unit infuses the water with oxygen, which helps beneficial bacteria grow and eat nutrient-rich organic matter in the lake sediment, reducing the amount of muck at the bottom of the lake.
