Celia Beougher
Celia G. Beougher, 87, Celina, died at 3:25 p.m. Sept. 27, 2012, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Dec. 27, 1924, in Celina to Harvey and Etha Haney Shimp. On Jan. 3, 1942, she married Ray Beougher, who died Feb. 21, 2003.
Surviving are a son, Ron (Erma) Beougher, Celina; a daughter, Barbara (Lynn) Avery, Celina; and two sisters, Wanda Ballard, Altamont, Ill., and Marilyn Craft, St. Marys; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, William Beougher; two brothers, Nathan "Brooks" and Charles Shimp; and six sisters, Annie Shimp, Stella Wolfe, Bernice Cone, Rita Groters, Zola Simons, and Phylis Simpson.
She graduated magna cum laude from Findlay College, earning her master's in special education. She retired from teaching, having taught at Mendon, Neptune, St. Marys and Celina schools.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Randy Christian officiating. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-5 p.m. Sunday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
