She was born Jan. 6, 1938, in Ohio City, to Walter C. and L. Lucille High Brown. On Feb. 6, 1960, she married Chester Lee Stephenson, who lives in Celina.
Also surviving are her two daughters, Julie Ann (Dr. Scott) Fleck of Celina and Debra Lee (Jay) Meyer of Mason; four grandchildren, Hannah E. and Stephen M. Fleck, and Alexis L. and Paige M. Meyer; her brother, Dr. Daniel H. (Nancy L.) Brown of Huron; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marjorie L. and Elden Houts of Celina.

She was the Mercer County Recorder Deputy for several years and retired from the Lima Credit Bureau of Toledo. She was an active member of the Celina First Church of God, where she sang in the choir and served as Sunday School teacher, superintendent, deaconess and on the church council. She was a past member of the Celina Alturian Women's Club and a current member of the Red Hat Society.
She was passionate about her family and lived for her children and grandchildren. She was proud of them and often remarked on how much joy they brought to her life. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, sparkling eyes and nurturing demeanor. Her legacy will live on through the lessons and impression she left on all those she touched. She was a good Christian lady of great faith who lived her life honestly with love, integrity and compassion.
