The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Janice Smith
Janice May (Mitchell) Smith, 62, Celina, died Aug. 16, 2013, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born Jan. 18, 1951, in Pomeroy, to Chalmer and JoeAnn Vannoy Whittaker, who are deceased. She married Frank Smith on Dec. 31, 2006, and he survives.
Other survivors are a stepdaughter, Heather Crouch, Marysville; brothers and sisters, Garry (Karen) Mitchell, Union City, Ind., Larry (Charlotte) Mitchell, Arcanum, Karen (David) Price, New Madison, and Jeffrey (Vicki) Whittaker, Hereford, Ariz.; four grandsons; a granddaughter; a mother-in-law, Nelva Smith; brothers and sisters-in-law, Teresa Smith (Randy Koehler), Mike Smith, Vivian (Carl) Fly, Roger (Stacey) Smith and Hope Smith (John Schmidt), all of St. Marys.
Deceased is a stepson, Jamison Godfrey; a father-in-law, Arnold Smith; a brother-in-law, Doug Smith; and a sister-in-law, Darlene Smith.
She was a 1970 graduate of Ansonia High School and recently retired from Marwil Products, Fort Loramie, after 31 years of service. She was a very active member of the Lighthouse Fellowship Church, Celina, where she served as a nursery attendant, Sunday school teacher and worked with the children's church and youth group.
Family was very important to her; she enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, family gatherings, quilting and flower gardening. She loved her country.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Lighthouse Fellowship Church, Celina, the Rev. Tony Richmond officiating. Burial is at Abbottsville Cemetery, Darke County.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday and one hour before services Monday at the church.
