Larry Townsend
Larry Townsend, 71, St. Marys, died suddenly Dec. 18, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 11, 1942, in Mendon, the son of Merle and Theo (Brown) Townsend. On Feb. 28, 2005, he married Janice Dunn, who survives at the residence.
Survivors include a son, Edward Townsend, St. Marys; a stepdaughter, Cherie Boedicker, St. Marys; a stepson, Shannon Boedicker, Celina; six grandchildren, Alex Townsend, James Townsend, Sebastian Boedicker, Mya Boedicker, Suzanna Wint and Riley Sealscott; a brother, Bill Townsend, Wapakoneta; and two stepbrothers, Pat O'Neal, Mendon, and Jim O'Neal.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He attended school in Mendon. He retired from Harvard Industries in Spencerville. He loved coyote hunting and cat fishing and watching NASCAR. He had a great personality and will be remembered as a person who would do anything to help a friend.
Funeral rites will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home West Chapel in St. Marys, the Rev. David Williams officiating. Private family burial rites will be held.
Calling is noon until the time of services Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be given to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
